Web 2.0-like Homepage and Landing page Design

This is what a business in United States was looking for in their landing page design

2. Based on the homepage layout, design a Listings page
3. Two pages in total: Homepage and Listings (venue) page

Other websites that have a close business theme are: clubplanet, eventful, and thescene. Another site that has something similar is clubnights.com. However, we are not interested in their designs and so they should not be imitated.

You need to design a homepage and listing (venue) page for a site that will be a nightlife website. This will be a directory with similar features to yelp. The website size should be similar to yelp's (at least width-wise). We are interested in seeing how the background colors and design will look like.
