Illustration Design Brief
40 years ago, my dad told us kids "Paper Lady" stories while riding home in the car from vacations, family get-togethers, etc. I've ask him to put those stories on paper so I can turn then into a family keepsake (the kind of books you can publish online from places like Apple or blurb).
To get him started (motivated?) I wanted to get some illustrations for the story characters: the Paper Lady, pencil, paperclip and eraser. (yes, we kids were ages 3,5 and 6 at the time.)
So I'm looking for not-quite-cartoon illustrations for the four main characters in these stories. After my dad gets a story or two on paper, I expect to ask the illustrator to customize these illustrations to fit into the story line.
10/12 UPDATE from the my dad who has been driving around in the car in order to get into the story telling mode: The Paper Lady was an old fashioned grandma type with a paper dress, big pockets, clunky shoes. Pencil was a dog, Paper Clip a cat, and Eraser was a horse that the Paper Lady rode. There were two boys in these stories named Tommy and Jimmy.
