Label Design Brief

We are a small herbalist company called 'Cottage Botanicals' which requires a new label scheme.

Cottage Botanicals specializes in organic wellness teas, handmade soaps, bath and beauty products. We also offer local beeswax, pollen and an herb CSA.

Our slogan is "Ancient Remedies for Modern Life" and we frequently market ourselves as an "Apothecary & Herb Farm".

The primary use of this label will be on tins and biodegradable food grade paper bags.

We are looking for:

1) An unique universal design for our products. Something that we can put on the tea tins/bags as well as boxes in the future. To keep costs down I would like something that can be used on a variety of products by simply having the colour changed or adding the title of the product in a certain area. We have four collections. Please see the attached style guide. I particularly like the Jasmine Pearl Tea Co. as each type of tea is reprinted by a design. Please see their website for further clarification. I also really like their styling.

2) Label required is 8.5" x 5.25" (w - h). Bear in mind we also have dark cobalt blue jars and Kraft biodegradable bags available that this label will fit on (5570-02 as pictured)

3) We would like to see a design that is colourful, and has elements of modern simplicity yet certainly has an old world apothecary charm.

4) Please refer to our current label for product information. Not everything has to be in the same place in the new design, however all the information is required.


We will require source files in .ai and .eps (layers retained, no outlines on text, list of fonts used).

The label chosen could be in for a lot more design work as we expand our company. Any other input regarding packaging would be helpful.
