Logo Design Brief

I need a design for new a Music School in Redmond, Washington. The goal of this school is to produce and offer professional classical training, exposure, and experiences to kids and adults who have no musical background and will most likely not have this kind of opportunity in their lives because they are not going into the music field. Students in my school often receive honorable distinctions in competitions and promotions in youth symphonies without having to give up their childhood to practice 3 hours day and pursue their interests in other fields (many of my young students are interested in programming). I would like a design that is "modern" and gives the feeling of "presence" to represent the long lineage and training methods passed down through history from my Russian teachers to me today. I keep their knowledge and philosophies alive with this music studio and pass their stories down to my students. My teachers are disciples of the Violin School of Leopold Auer. I don't really know what I'm looking for at the moment, so I'm open to abstract images, icons, legacy fonts, flat images, just about anything beautiful and elegant, and not funny or silly. I teach violin, viola, piano, music theory, and musical analysis. The final design should hopefully be something iconic that brands and sells.

Requirements

Must have

• I would love to have an icon that I can brand to use not only for business cards, but a website, and stationary. Must be a feeling of a Music Conservatory, Music Library, and something instrumental or beautiful. I like the color red, gold, yellow, and "noble" shades.

Nice to have

• Can you capture the mood of this piece: "Chopin's Ballade No. 1 Op. 23 in G minor"? Whenever I tire of the piles of music sitting on my piano and the endless hours I put into thinking of ways to guide my young students, this music is what pulls me through to the next day. Suggestions and feedback from designers would be most welcome! I am very new to this entire process and need guidance. Thank you!
