Hello,

Nice project. I will submit my design very soon.

Do you need only PSD or with HTML?

Regards,
Rohit Gangully.

I'm sorry, but I'm new to DesignCrowd, so I have to ask. Do I actually make the whole website first, or just the design and if i get chosen THEN i make the html, css, javascript code?
PS: sorry if this is not the right place to ask. If this is the case, it would be kind to show me where to post these kind of questions...

Hi Rohit

We need HTML. Thanks

...never mind...

HTML coding should be a separate project/quote, your current budget you won't get both.

Thank you for the invite but I can only do the design at this point, I can however provide you with a seperate quote for development if you wish. Would you be willing to accept a design only for this competition? It will include those pages that you have mentioned in the brief.

Cheers,
Amy

Hi Amy

As I'm not very computer savvy, can we just clarify the difference between "design" and "development"?

I understand that design is the appearance of the website ie how each page will look. Development is taking that design and coding it and getting it actually onto a webhost.

Is this correct?

thanks
Liz

Yes that is correct, I have developers that deal with the development side of things and I deal with the design, I can design all aspects of the site and then my developers custom code the design into a fully working and fuctional website.

You might get some people willing to design and develop your site for the set budget but be wary of the quality. My developers develop our sites using CMS which stands for content managment system. A CMS site will allow you to update the site yourself without the need to contact a developer, this of course works out to be much more economical for website owner and it is also very easy to use.

Hopefully I have answered your question and that I haven't rambled too much lol.

Cheers,
Amy

Hi Amy

Thanks for your info. Ok, we will certainly consider your designs. In our brief I mentioned that primarily our competition was for the "landing" page and 1 other, but that if a designer wanted to include development then so be it - can't blame us for trying to get a good deal!
However, our priority is definitely with getting a design that we are really happy with. Our focus is on design not value.
Can you give me a quote for the development work for 5 or 6 pages - 1st page is landing page and then around 5 more as per our brief. Design continuity is what we are looking for.
Also, as per our brief, we would really like to have something animated on the 1st page (in the absence of any other good ideas having surfaced). Will your design include that, and if not, can an allowance/facility for it be included in the development phase/quote?
When our website is up and running it is quite important to us to be able to access it to edit it and to add/remove photos in the gallery. Will this be possible?
Thanks and good luck
Liz

Hi Liz,

I will have to get back to you on the animation as flash at the moment is not so popular due to it not being compatable with popular mobile browsers and SEO. The other option would be to go with HTML5 however finding a competent html5 expert maybe tricky. I will have a look at your brief and I will see what I think will work well. Since it will be a development extra it will need to be added into the quote.

Quote " When our website is up and running it is quite important to us to be able to access it to edit it and to add/remove photos in the gallery. Will this be possible?" Most definately, you will bill able to edit most elements of your site quite easily with a CMS website.

Thankyou for getting back to me so quickly, I will be more than happy to submit a design for you and will get started on something shortly.

In regards to the quote I will have a look at the info you have provided and get back to you with any questions, it may also be a case of waiting until I have a design to see what needs to be included in the development side of things.

Thanks again,
Amy
