Web Design Brief
I'm an author in need of a personal web site. My writing is dark and dramatic but also beautiful and artistic, and I would like the site to reflect this. Dark colours are preferred - eg grey, black.
I prefer wide-screen layouts where the images flow unbroken to the edge of the screen. I've had professional photos taken and would like to use a different photo as a header for each page (see this site as an example of the feel I'm after: www.nicolebaart.com).
I like the use of texture and layers. I want the pages to have depth. eg Distressed/ vintage effects where the edges fade to black.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I will be extending the deadline as I'm about to head overseas for a week and won't be able to finalise this project before I leave. This will also give more time for a variety of designers to participate in this contest. As I'll be traveling over the coming week, my ability to provide feedback will be limited until I return.
I've enjoyed the designs I've received so far and look forward to seeing more.
