Financial Planning Firm needs a logo design

This is what Seneca Financial Advisors was looking for in their logo design

We would like to freshen up our current logo to a more modern look. We have various thoughts on which direction it should be taken but are open to designers' ideas. The Company is called Seneca Financial Advisors and I am going to upload our current logo that was done about 15 years ago. We want a more sleek and modern look. Seneca is based off one of the finger lakes so we like the water/lake inspiration, but not necessary. We also have debates on keeping the shield but again, open to other thoughts and ideas.
