Software-as-a-service business needs a logo design

This is what Sorian was looking for in their logo design

We need a logo design for a new company called Sorian. We will be offering a new approach for market research for small and medium size businesses (SMBs). Sorian is focused on helping SMB owners/employees access, store, and organize information on their external environment (customers, competitors, partners, trends, best practices, etc.), analyze it to aid in their decision-making, and share it to advance their business.

We would like the logo to reflect the notion that Sorian will help make new connections that lead to new insights and ideas that will help their business. The attached concept is intended to do this, but we'd like to see some other concepts. The first concept (intersecting squares) is my default logo. The second concept (shown on the second slide) is intended to inspire other concepts that include a variation on the sunburst patterns that you see here.
