Law Firm Needs to Freshen up and Simplify Logo

This is what Maurer Law was looking for in their logo design

Need to freshen up logo for firm named "Maurer Law".

I want a more simple, clean, and crisp logo than what I have now, which is a little too busy. Currently, I have a badge off to the left of the logo and an underline mark under the words Maurer Law. I want to lose both of those.

I want the new logo to have a font different than what I have now. I like some of the simple fonts used at http://logo.designcrowd.com/. those designs are cool too. The Design crowd logo is pretty cool too. Maybe do something like that in a color version and also grayscale version.

There must be contrasting colors with the "Maurer" and "Law". Example: Maurer = white letters against a black background of some sort, and Law = black letters.
