Character Design Brief

I am looking for a set of 3 cartoon characters to be developed. A rat, a cat and a koala.

These are to be used as illustrations on a website aimed at students (20 years old).

They are intended to make people laugh a little when they first see them as each of them is "cranky" (ill-tempered, grouchy, cross – from Dictionary.com).

They are also sly, suspicious, hip, cool and a little edgy. I am looking for fun, not scary.

I have attached an image that I found on Google Images of a cat with an expression something like what I am looking for. This also shows the level of detail I am looking for.

Once I have bought a great design it is my hope to then work with the designer to have these characters drawn in a number of situations (10 - 15).

The characters are all a similar size and generally interact with each other. They can squat or stand on 2 feet.

So that designers are not wasting their time, some may wish to start by doing quick pencil sketches and then provide a photo of this for my feedback.

As the final product I would like to receive the vector graphic files and IP rights.
