Logo Design Brief

Aloha! We need a logo for "Werk Arts," a custom woodworking company. We are a small business, specializing in sustainably sourced exotic woods from Hawaii. We work closely to the land, often harvesting our own bamboo and meeting directly with tree removal companies. We're looking to reach an audience that is interested in high-end custom furniture that is well-made, precise and hand-crafted. See werkarts.com for examples of work. We're launching a new furniture line later this year (see attached photos)

We focus a lot on using hand tools and working close to the wood. We're moving away from carpentry and more into furniture and we're looking for a logo to convey that. Also looking for something polished yet organic. We will be carving or burning our logo into the furniture as well, so its got to be something simple and timeless. Mostly been focused on black lettering, but willing to expand. I've also attached a file of a hand planer tool that we thought might be able to work into it (not totally married to that idea, just a thought.) But in all, we want a clean, simple design that will translate our brand messages. Thanks so much.
