Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for a Registered Investment Advisory company doing investment portfolio management and financial planning. The name of the company is Vector Investment Planning. I chose "Vector" because I'm a private pilot and "Vector" is a compass heading or direction that a plane flys. A vector in math is "a value having both magnitude and direction" and is usually illustrated by an arrow. In financial planning, we try to give "direction" to our clients' financial futures.
I had been thinking about The V in Vector having an arrow for the right leg, pointing upward on a 90 degree angle. Just a thought.
Another idea is that an investment portfolio is many times illustrated by a colored pie chart. One of the pies could be the V in Vector.
I am open to all ideas.
The business will focus on managing low-cost portfolios of no-load mutual funds for a low fee which is usually a small percentage of the account value. Matching the clients risk tolerance with the right portfolio using Nobel Prize winning academic research (Modern Portfolio Theory).
Most clients are older so I want to portray a conservative image. Sound, conservative investment strategies, not investing in individual stocks or day trading. Think Wealth Management.
