Logo Design Brief

I want a logo design to use on our sign, business cards, website etc. We are an independent used car dealership near Charleston SC. We are family owed and have been here for almost 20 years. We are very laid back and don't fit any of the cliches that car dealers are famous for. I want a logo that modernizes our image but is fun, unique and avoids cliches but also presents a professional business image. It can be a little on the funky side. Things I have thought of but not sure I would use were a cowboy in 70's convertible, surfing woody wagon, or just something basic and clean. I am open. I need to replace my sign ASAP so I am eager to select a logo.
