Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new company in the Media Asset Management space. Our platform provides an enterprise tool to organize, distribute and analyze digital media assets (images, videos, audio, etc.) in the cloud.

The platform enables organizations to pull together media from all over the internet, social channels, and internal systems.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for submitting your designs...it's been a fun start. I figured I'd send some thoughts on the early submissions - perhaps some things that weren't clear in the brief, or new thoughts.

We're definitely going for a web software company feel (for example, mint.com). Professional and reliable, but not stodgy or old - we want some subtle fun in our logo, but nothing too goofy or kids-y.

We like a very clean and simple approach, but with some character.

We like fonts that aren't too thin or too fat. Bubble fonts and thin/stick fonts are not good. We like a medium, very readable weight with "normal" spacing.

The biggest issue with many of the designs is that we'd much rather focus on the box than the bird. And by "box" we mean a bird box, not just a square or a package box. Bird boxes have a very distinct look (box, roof, hole, stem), and we're trying to capture that in our logo/brand. We may end up keeping birds entirely out of the logo, but some of you have done a nice job of capturing a "cute" feel (that touch of fun and character) with a very simple bird incorporated with the box. We're still open to having a bird in the logo, but the focus should *definitely* be on the box/house.

Thanks, and we're all looking forward to your next designs if you'd like to submit!

Target Market(s)

Digital Media professionals, software developers, marketing/agency professionals looking for a simple solution as a central place to organize their media assets. Mostly based in the US, but the platform can appeal to a global audience.

Our current clients are very large media companies (household names), and the product is branded under another name currently. We're relaunching the product this summer, and are targeting a "down-market" segment - meaning, this isn't a product just for big media companies. It's for any business who has a small-medium sized library of digital assets they want to centralize in the cloud.

Requirements
Must have
  • A visual representation of a bird box (bird house). Since bird boxes are a highly recognizable object, we believe it makes sense to leverage the visual imprint it may instill.
Nice to have
  • We want to avoid any direct association to Twitter, so the use of birds in the bird box should be limited. With that said, if it can be accomplished subtly (perhaps a bird peeking out of the box), we're open to it.
Should not have
  • See Nice to Have Priorities :)
