Illustration Design Brief
We are releasing a new one off beer that will feature a sideshow circus theme styling. The concept is a two headed person can incorporate Janos the Greek god of January, could have a concept of two face from batman cartoons or a man/women or transvestite. The beer will be bold and high in alcohol. We want the image to be very much in the authentic side show banner artwork, weathered muted colours, title could feature bold statements like "magnificent two headed man" Janos, the..... Etc.

Project Deadline Extended

We have decided to review the designs over the weekend and determine a final selection and award the design on Monday. If you want to update your files over the weekend, greatly appreciated. Thanks for your efforts to-date, we have a good number of entries to review.
We have just posted the following to our members and will complete the label design early next week for release on Thursday.

"Janus" The Resolution Beer - Thursday Night Release.
Railway City Brewing is proud to introduce 2015's first original brew on Thursday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m.
Happy New Year to all! As 2015 begins we here at Railway City Brewing want to embrace all the happenings; new beginnings, transitions, passages and endings that each and everyone of us experience. We are excited to announce the release of "Janus" The Resolution Beer.
Janus is the Greek "two-headed" God of beginnings and transitions and is conventionally thought that the month of January is named for Janus.
One thing you may notice is that our Label is still under wraps and will be unveiled next Thursday at the event.
Our brewing team came together before the holiday season commenced to create a delicious Dunkle-Dubble-Hefe-Weizen-Bock. Janus has a wonderful spicy warm front, Tamarind is added as a special ingredient which helps add to the array of flavours present such as almonds, lemon, liquorice and peach. At 10.2%, it is a real winter warmer.

I want to personally thank everyone for their designs and their contribution towards our project. Collectively we received 35 different designs to choose from. All very interesting, some more finished than others.
While I extended the project deadline to this Wednesday, I only meant to extend the project deadline until today. The option to extend for only a couple of days was not provided. sorry if some of you still had some work yet to submit for consideration.
The selection has been made and final modifications are proceeding with an expected final label design unveiled later this week.

craft beer enthusiasts as this is a one-off style of beer. The label will be featured in a very limited offering. Most accounts will feature draft. The images will be used to develop the final label. The segment is mostly 25-50 male however the craft beer segment is growing and includes both men and women along with a more mature audience.

Must have
- look and feel of an old circus sideshow banner. lettering, fonts, colours etc. The ideal image would colourful but muted and almost worn out. An era from before the 50's. Similar styling to the television show Carnivale. I have attached a couple of our other labels to give some additional ideas. You shoudl review "Janos" Greek god of gates and beginnings and transitions. a two faced god who looks to the future and the past. the romans dedicated the month of January to Janus.
Nice to have
- We like the rougher edges of the sideshow and tattoo artworld. The Tarot Card also comes to min. with our community heritage featuring circus acts in the past, we want to embrace this part of our culture and extend it into our labels.
Should not have
- The artwork is for the front panel of the label, the side panels will be created locally and will feature must have items for legal approval. The artwork needs to be able to be increased and reduced to fit the different size of formats from label to poster etc. Colour separations may be required to enable us to print on other formats.
