Logo Design Brief

I am updating the logo for my law firm. I am looking for a new design that is aggressive, bold, strong and masculine. I am a solo practitioner and usually have large law firms opposing me on cases. Please, no scales of justice, gavels or courthouses. The design needs to look good in both color and black/white. I will need a version for letterhead (logo above text) and a version for envelope return address (logo to left of text). My current logo versions are attached. As you can tell, I just took a stock image and added an "S." The updated logo should be in a different league.
