Logo Design Brief

Pengtree is designed as a social media site. "Peng" is one of many Chinese words meaning "friend". Thus, "friend tree". Clients will have texting capabilities among groups that they create. Phase one is ready for roll out. Due to non-disclosure I am not permitted to make a further description. Suffice it to say that it is an innovative, seamless social media site with personal and business applications.
When you refer to the photo seen below, please do not think that your design must duplicate that tree. It is meant to be a guide. I trust your design experience to come up with the right design.
I want a clean, eclectic look with hints of the Orient. I do NOT want this to look like a New England candy store logo. It must be smart and hip.

Requirements

Must have

• Design must depict a tree. The tree I am looking for would be like a bonsai tree that has been shaped by the wind (see attached photo). However, if the designer believes another style to be appropriate then I will accept suggestions. Elegant and simple. Asian feel but not too much.
