Wordpress Design Brief

I need a Wordpress design for an upcoming blog, “Toying With Play”. The blog will provide light coverage and observations about new toy products, and examine how kids interact with different toys. I’m looking for a design that elegantly exhibits a sense of playfulness, to reflect the fact that this blog examines a fun subject - albeit in a thoughtful manner.

The background should be light, but the design should incorporate elements of color, preferably through graphics depicting toys throughout the page and/or in the logo. No depictions of copyrighted toys (Barbies, etc) should be used – instead, you can depict generic toys such as teddy bears, rocking horses, building blocks, etc. Overall, I do not want the blog to look loud, jarring or crowded, but it should be pleasant to look at and easy to read.

The logo should read “Toying With Play” and have some color (not just black/white/gray). The page should also have a sub-heading that reads, “a playful look at playtime and playthings”.

• Large buttons. Graphics with obvious gradients. Clip art. Comic Sans or Courier New fonts. Brightly-colored, jarring background colors.
