Book Cover Design Brief

My novel is an action story called In The Company Of Monsters, and it needs a cover.

The story centers around Jack, a detective who takes his shot at redemption by going after a notorious cop killer. But things spin out of control when they and others are quarantined together with a virus that makes people temporarily homicidal.

It takes place inside an Import/Export business down by the Seattle docks. Since anyone can go crazy and try to kill whoever happens to be in front of them, there's definitely a paranoia vibe at work.

This is being made as a movie soon, and I'll include a photo we had shot for the movie poster as inspiration. The Marine Ka-Bar knife plays a role in the story, and the idea of two people wondering if they should grab the knife first fits the 'paranoia' well. But when this image is reduced to 90 pixels wide for an Amazon thumbnail, it all gets lost.
