Logo Design Brief
Socrates Digital Video – Socrates delivers solution for film- and video production, post production and Animation and Visual FX.

Socrates Imaging – Socrates delivers high end photo and video systems for theme parks and tourist attractions including systems for ride photo, on ride video, chroma key photo and front gate photo. Website: www.socrates -imaging.com
Both website will be renewed and we are looking for one strong logo to represent both departments. Departments have in common camera’s, lenses, etc.
The logo contains a simple but strong shape/symbol representing our business
The logos contains the word SOCRATES
The logo can be used against a black (vans) and a white (letters) background
Besides black (white against black background) the logo can contain one supporting color (orange?)
Hint: In both branches the circle is a common shape (film reels, lens rings, apertures, sprockets, etc.). The lens is where the image start getting into our systems.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Dear Designers.
We have seen various nice designs and these have sharpened our thoughts about the logo.
Since we are confident one of you will design the logo we will use, we have decided to extend the project deadline and increase the budget and make it guaranteed.
New design instructions
Typeface: Futura Md or similar super straight and modern typeface and all CAPS (black on white and negative white on black)
compulsory supporting colour: orange
No film reel symbols, in most cases it resembles a revolver and we are no criminal syndicate yet ;-)
We have seen our old subtitles Digital Video and Imaging being used but we are looking for one strong abstract symbol that represents both activities. So no subtitle (or optional suggest a one new subtitle that’s good for both activities).
Also we have seen designs that were visualised on t-shirts, business cards and even a complete car wrap to present its effect. We do like that a lot!!

Thank you all for your submissions. We have had over 600 designs and it is impossible for us to send comments about all of them. So some that are close for nomination have received comments others not. Sorry for that.
We have nominated several designs (about 10) for a last review by the MT and then most likely if we agree one of these will win the contest.
This hopefully be done next week when most of the people involved will be available for the last review.
