Logo Design Brief
Our company is about to bring "the Original Lounge Skirt" to market - and we need a fantastic logo!
This new, oh-so comfy "lounge skirt" will come in a below-the-knee version (dubbed "The Original Lounge Skirt"), perfect for lounging/snuggling in at home as well as to wear out & about. It will also come in a mini, above-the-knee version. We're producing these skirts in the softest, yummiest Organic Cotton we've ever felt as well as in the most wonderful, lush, non-clingy Rayon. Our demographic is any girl/woman 13 yrs+.
The idea behind "the Original Lounge Skirt" is a skirt that one can wear to lounge in at home instead of lounge pants (or the nightgown we used to love wearing but now won't be caught dead in) or that one can wear to the beach or to lunch, or in the case of the Rayon, to dinner or a show. It's also the perfect skirt to travel in as its versatility makes it all one needs. It's a VERY SIMPLE SKIRT that won't have any annoying decorative seams or detailing or waists so wide you can see the bottom-of-the-waist seam below the shirt/sweater you're pairing it with or itchy tags on the waistband. The waist is made of the stretchy fabric with no clingy elastic added.
There are 3 textual elements to this logo:
1. "the Original"
2. "Lounge Skirt"
3. "Made in the USA"
*We see Element 2 ("Lounge Skirt") being in a different font that Element 1 and/or Element 3.
The most important practical applications for our logo are:
1) Store Hang Tags (This simply designed skirt demands a strong brand and a strong logo to go with it!)
2) In-store Signage
3) Our eCommerce website (www. loungeskirt.com)
4) Promotion Cards and Marketing Pieces
Our logo needs to be bold and strong - yet feminine and fun.
We love the idea of imparting a bit of a feel of "Americana" as the skirts are "Made in the USA". Plus, the idea of "the Original" harkens to that as well.
The skirts are ultra lush and comfy...somehow we would love that feel to be part of the logo.
Updates
Some people are thinking of using an image of a skirt for the logo - but think hard before doing this. 99.9% of the time this is going to make the logo look cheesy! Rather, please be creative with the fonts, layout, colors, use of design elements... to create something fabulous for "the Original Lounge Skirt". Thanks so much!!
