Logo Design Brief

'First Choice DJs" or "1st Choice DJs"

Brand new mobile DJ company needing a modern, slick-looking, professional logo. Classy but not overly elegant. Bold and confident. Think high quality, classy and friendly DJs.

We will be doing all kinds of functions: weddings, engagement parties, birthdays (18ths, 21sts, 30ths, 40ths and kids parties), school discos, graduations, harbor cruises, anniversaries, corporate functions, Christmas parties, etc.

The logo needs to look cool and confident and at the same time appeal to all ages. The kids parties require a fun, funky DJ (not an old stiff guy) but the weddings require someone who is more mature and refined. The teenagers need a DJ who is trendy, up to date and modern.

I've tried to pick a business name that works well in all these different situations and would like a logo that will also work well no matter who is considering hiring us.

As far as colours go, I am happy for you to try whatever you think works. It just needs to look confident. I am partial to the colours Red, Purple, Black and white. Dark blue and orange could also work if matched with the correct colours.

Light blue, grey and pink are too weak.

Having a graphic or image of some kind as part of the logo would be nice to make it distinct from others - headphones, a DJ, someone dancing or some other DJ related image - however it is ESSENTIAL that it is not too generic or a corny looking, clip art or cartoon type picture. We are targeting the top end of the market and do not want to look like a backyard, hobby type outfit.

Turntables, records and CDs are probably not the best choice of image because very few DJs uses them nowadays. Headphones will always be part of DJing. So will disco lights, microphones, speakers, dancing, music. Just think party.

The logo should contain the words “First Choice DJs” or "1st Choice DJs".

If it fits a sub-heading: “Sydney - Hawkesbury – Lithgow” could also be added. (Those are the areas we cover.)
