Web Design Brief

After scores of designs were submitted in response to our recent DesignCrowd competition to re-think the Newsmax.com homepage, we went back and looked at each of the artist’s portfolios. Several - including yours - were of particular interest to you.

We are now asking a handful of these designers to take a stab at a new Newsmax.com homepage – again – but this time in accordance with some fresh guidelines. (See below.)

For this you will be paid $500 (US). We would need to have your work by Friday, March 4.

Furthermore, if we ask you to take your design through several additional stages, to a “final,” you will be paid an additional $750.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are agreeable to this proposal.

What we have attached here are several wireframes that will help guide you to what we are after.

There are two wireframes, the first is that of the homepage. It has an area, at the top, that we are calling “the canvas”. The canvas will display different templates. The second wireframe features four different canvas templates.

We would like you to design one main homepage comp.

Once you are done with the homepage comp, please create 4 versions of it, each with a different canvas template in the “canvas” area.

Remember, the wireframes are for position only. Please use your creative judgment on colors, sizes, scale, styles, and graphics.

Generally speaking, it should be apparent that we seek a spare, clean look – easy to navigate, not too crowded with small images or unnecessary embellishment. Our audience tends to be older and not especially Web-savvy.
