App Design Brief

Ipad Menu/Entertainment application. We are seeking a new design for our "Simmar" concept

What is “Simmar?”
*Simmer interactive software is hosted by an Apple Ipad 2, which is secured in a custom enclosure for each table or bar counter space in your restaurant.

*Simmar is an easy to implement interactive menu platform that is a one, two, three plug and play concept.

*Simmar software features your menu, specials, dishes that you wish to premier, and something for the thirsty customer to see visually through color, movement and suggestion. This can be changed daily with little to no effort.

* Simmer software currently offers games, controlled and specific websites, and social media programs to ease the wait time of customers; while create a more relaxing experience. Whether it is help for parents or time management for professionals; imagine yourself being able to catch up friends, family and colleagues while viewing today’s current events at your table.

*Simmar offers much more, with supporting multiple interactive photos and video, promoting upcoming events and new menus items and reasons to return. Our simple search tools for the guests can be updated within seconds for daily or last minute changes to the menu, therefore saving on printing costs avoiding frustration for the servers and guests.

* Software customization: Listed below are some custom features that you may consider to assist you in enriching the dining experience and expanding your customer base.

Requirements

Must have

• Here is the focus for our application
  1. Arrival
  a. They like a very slim look, sexy looking and inviting to use
  2. Engagement
  a. We anticipate that the wait staff will do a brief “how to” at the time of greeting.
  3. Experience
  a. Create lots of guest interaction and ease of use
  b. Guests need to be able to contact server…i.e. pager, central communications
  i. Make simple requests…i.e. another round, want to place new order, need check, please take my payment
  
  1. Menu – please see images.
  a. As you can see there are multiple categories with this. We have the top category that shows all the different menu sub-categories i.e. Appetizers, Entrees etc. This needs to support as many of these subs as needed. Some restaurants have only a few and others have 15 to 20
  b. First Sub-category would be from the list mentioned above. Supporting as many dish choices as needed. This needs to support static images or photos with a brief description of the food item.
  c. Second sub-category would be to highlight a selected item. Multiple photos or video supported as well as full disclosure including nutritional info.
  2. A search for allergenic or specific ingredients is needed.
  3. Help me decide. A filter to help pin point a food or drink item from a list of a few questions.
  It is important to note that the restaurant menu is the function that over laps the ad windows. This can be a full page view.

  a. Food menu – Launches video and opens menu
  b. Drink menu – Launches video and opens menu with build your own cocktail
  c. Promotions – mostly video content for food and drink items
