As a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, we are looking for a professional logo that represents the mission of the organization. The website of the organization is here: www.ncperid.org. Our title was recently changed to National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID) but the website does not reflect the change yet. The term Recreation was dropped.
As stated on the website, the Mission of the NCPEID is to promote research, professional preparation, service delivery, and advocacy of Physical Education for individuals with disabilities. Membership is open to all persons who are or have been involved in professional preparation, demonstration, or research activity related to physical education for individuals with disabilities. University faculty in adapted physical education as well as public school and residential facility personnel are encouraged to become members. The Consortium plays a major role in shaping the direction of adapted physical education. Its membership has been active in promoting legislation and personnel preparation programs that improve the quality of physical education for individuals with disabilities. For example, members have been involved at the federal level promoting versions of the recently reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA - PL 108-446), as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (PL 101-336). The Consortium is a valuable resource for professionals seeking information and direction on various legislative and advocacy issues. Members also contribute to the growing knowledge base for the disciplines through research and demonstration programs.

Requirements
Must have
- The logo must be:
- Unique, yet simple and appropriate for the use by the Consortium
- Representative of the organization’s mission and its members (see in the description above)
- Timeless
- Versatile or adaptable to different functions, mediums, applications, and activities such as brochures, conferences, promotional giveaways (e.g., T-shirts, pens, business card holders), website, and/or posters. The logo needs to be easy to (a) scale to any size, (b) be printed in black and white, and (c) use in a letterhead.
Nice to have
- A blue color should be the main color and a green color as an accent color for graphic or somehow intertwined.
Should not have
- A graphic/symbol that represents adaptation, equality, etc. would be nice but such a logo would need to stand the test of time.
