Logo Design Brief
Design a logo for Verdacore, a Dubai-based, boutique strategy consulting and project development firm working with large regional corporates across the Middle East.
The meaning behind Verdacore is "truth" and "essence" - meaning we provide fact based, straightforward advice that gets to the essential issues and aims to be truthful, even if the advice is unwelcome or controversial. Verda also relates to the color green, which is very much associated with Islam and the Islamic world. This does not, mean, however, that the logo must use green. It could also use any other professional colors.
We currently have a simple logo with V's arranged in a starburst pattern which represents an Islamic style pattern and asterisk of sorts. One option is to refine our existing logo by cleaning it up (straighter lines etc). Alternatively, we could be open to new design ideas.
Updates
Many thanks for all your wonderful and creative designs. I am in the process of giving some feedback to some shortlisted logos.
Thanks for your patience.

We work with regional companies at the Chairman/Owner/CEO level. Occasionally we also work with boards of private companies. Most of our clients are privately held, family controlled conglomerates owned/operated by ultrahigh net worth individuals (UNHWIs) and families.

Requirements
Must have
- Simple, elegant, serious. Can have a logomark like the "V" asterisk or any other simple logomark that make sense. Can also play with certain letters like the V in Verdacore. The text could be ALL CAPS of Sentence Case. The logo should look very modern, clean, crisp and upscale. Like a Swiss private bank, investment bank, or global strategy firm.
Nice to have
- One could explore Islamic patterns around a V theme or some sort of Arabesque geometric logomark. Otherwise, the name could also stand on its own without a logomark. Text could be serif or sans serif; probably have a slight preference for sans serif fonts. The weight of the text must be heavy enough to make an impression, not too light or difficult to read.
The text should probably be in a darker color, grey, or black. The mark (if any) could be a clean, professional looking color.
Should not have
- Should not be too complex. Should not be targeting mid market or low end consumers or customers. No logomarks like animals, characters, or other ill suited marks. No tagline or slogans.
