Web Design Brief

What we look for: Wordpress Theme ready to be installed in the Wordpress, even if it requires some plugins to work.

[Introduction]
Bule Voador (www.BuleVoador.com.br) is a non-profit Secular Humanist blog in Brazil, with hundreds of thousands of visits per month and new posts almost every day. Maintained exclusivelly by volunteers, the blog has more or less the same layout since the foundation in 2009, and we believe it is time to change. We want "Bule" to become lighter, simpler and more responsive to new browsers and screen widths.


[General Concept]
The blog is about Secular Humanism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_humanism) and covers humanism, secularism, sciences in general, LGBT rights, feminism, human rights, amongst other topics.

In Portuguese, "Bule Voador" means a "flying teapot", a direct reference to Bertrand Russell's teapot analogy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot) so, at the top of the theme, we really wanted to have a flying teapot somewhere, maybe a flying teapot through the space amongst planets (it could be Earth itself) or just the teapot at space. This image here (http://i.space.com/images/i/23195/original/Apophis.jpg?1351286735) illustrates the concept, with space at the background and a transparent asteroid at the forefront.

We want a clean, elegant and contemporary design with white background for posts and fonts for reading long (mostly 1-3 page) texts.

We also want an image-based slider such as NivoSlider that would promote the latest posts.

* Fully responsive design
* SEO -friendly, with page titles with h1 tags, breadcrumbs, pagination, next and previous post/page links, related posts, clean semantics
* Cross-browser compatibility (minimum Chrome, IE, Firefox and Safari)
* NO ads slots (site is a non-profit and we DO NOT want any advertisement)
* Widget-ready (at the right side)
* Google analytics friendly
* Social media icons (You Tube, Facebook, Twitter)
* Georgia font for the post's body
* Helvetica bold font for the title
* At the bottom of each post, a small disclaimer (text to be defined) with dotted square
* White background for posts (#FFFFFF)

Nice to have

• * JQuery enhancements
  * Featured (high-def) image at the top of each post
  * NivoSlider at the homepage, looping through featured images of the latest posts (e.g., the latest 5)
  - Group posts by categories in the homepage. Such as a magazine style, where we will have "sections", with thumbnails and the titles. Latest posts should also be listed below these grouped posts.
  - A grid of related texts at the end of each post, with 5-8 sugestions, half matched by keywords/title proximity and half by a category of choice.
