Web Design Brief
AccuRadio is one of the world's leading brands of personalizable online radio -- similar to Pandora, but aimed at a somewhat older audience (age 35-54).
We'd like to redesign our homepage with a more contemporary look: It should emphasize our wide variety of GENRES (as the primary navigation), with the search field easy to find as a secondary navigation.
We'd like to retain our corporate color of maroon/plum. (We are not committed to the gold/yellow secondary color.)
See our current homepage at www.accuradio.com and our in-house attempt at an improved design at http://web4.accuradio.com/finder/2013ms/.
Ideally, we'd like to see designs for up to THREE different states:
(1) An initial state when users first come to the page.
(2) What the page would look like as the user is looking at channel options.
(3) What the page would look like once the media player is launched.
However, you may be able to combine (2) and (3) in a single screenshot.
Thanks!
Updates
At the request of several designers, we have decided to extend our deadline by four days. At the same time, we have increased our budget, including the addition of a 2nd place award. Thanks for your excellent work!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Extended at the request of a couple of designers. May mean you don't have to work over the weekend!

Thanks very much for your designs! We are very pleased with the overall quality of the work we are seeing.
One reminder: As our brief says, the user interface "should emphasize our wide variety of GENRES (as the primary navigation), with the search field easy to find as a secondary navigation," and we feel that your design uses the SEARCH field as the primary navigation.
Many of the designs use a large search field as the primary navigation. If yours does, you might want to tweak your design to put a greater emphasis on browsing genres as the primary navigation.
Thanks and good luck!
