Pat, There is psd file out that with the album cover in layers. You should be able to get what you need from that.

Yes there is a psd file, but its all one image and not in layers.

I think it is in layers. I believe others have used as have I. I am not at a machine that can read psd files, but will be later today. I''ll double check it then.
