Stationery Design Brief

Hi everyone,

We need a business card and a stationary set designed for a new corporate video production company based in Sydney, 'Bird On Fire'.

The name refers to the mythological 'phoenix' so we would like to see designs that are appropriate to both the name and to a creative film company. The key thing is, we need to appear fresh and creative while maintaining professionalism.

We would like to stick with dark colors for the basis of the card. One idea that came up was obsidian/volcanic rock with the logo cracking through to reveal lava or something fire like. This is just one idea that has come up, but we are of course open to others and would love to see what people can come up with. Extensive use of flames/fire imagery is not really what we are after.

Also, cinematic as opposed to corporate is preferable.

When I hand over the card to a prospective client, I want them to feel like they are receiving an obsidian plate with inscriptions in it (ie the phoenix). Looking for something elemental and rigid to contrast and complement the graceful lines of the logo.

Designs we require:
- Business card
(We would like a business card that makes use of some of the more premium business card printing options, such as foil stamping, embossing/debossing, painted edges, spot UV etc. Doesnt have to use all these things, only what you feel works, but we are looking for a business card that stands out and is memorable and these nice touches have that effect. The phoenix is a musical bird from mythology, known for its long fancy tail and small plume on the top of its head. They are elegant and graceful and symbolize immortality, endurance and strength, believed to live for 5 centuries before they were reborn from their ashes.
