Logo Design Brief

Hello Designers!

APP OVERVIEW: So here's the deal. Over the past few months I've been designing an iOS app for tracking dog parks and dogs in dog parks. Primarily the app will be used by dog owners on vacation to find parks nearby or used by owners to see if local dogs they know are "checked in" at the park. Think four square for dogs essentially. The problem is that while I've done most of the front end (Objective C) and the backend API I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to graphics. That's where you come in.

FOLLOW ON WORK GUARANTEED: While this contest is only for the logo of the app I will need additional graphics from the winning designer for the rest of the app (random icons etc). We can work on the agreed upon price and details for the follow-on freelance jobs after the conclusion of this contest, but for now just remember this logo is only the start of what I need designed in order for the app to look professional and inviting.

THE LOGO: Now, this is a design contest for the logo of the app itself. Think the rectangular (or possibly square) image that will appear on the splash screen or login page. I'm not committed to any particular color palette or theme, but I would say playful, it is a dog park app after all.

To be honest I haven't even really named the app yet. The above describes most of its functionality (find parks, view park amenities, view how many dogs are in parks, view details about dogs). So far I've just been calling it "Dog Parks" or "Dog Park" or maybe even "Dog Parkz" with a Z ... just kidding please no "Dog Parkz". So outside of "Dog Parkz," if you can think of a clever name for the app shoot me a message and ask. Maybe I'll love it and you'll have a leg up on the competition to do all the design work for the App. In the Logo text I'll put Dog Parks, but PLEASE be creative and ask me questions.

• Ok so upon some reflection I've decided to add some specific elements that I like seeing so far. I like the grassy look, dogs, dog bowls, dog bones, and paw prints. Even dog houses wouldn't be inappropriate. The cuter, the happier the dog the better, but I don't want the app to look like a game. Again this logo will set the whole theme for the app so it should be detailed enough that various aspects could be pulled out and placed in other icons along the way (i.e. the app icon, the title bar, etc).
