Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for our existing antique business which is called "Harlequin" Antiques & Decorations - situated in the Netherlands - I am in the process of updating the business, making it more modern, accessible, trying to attract a younger public to whom "antiques" are sooooo passé!! I want to combine nice antiques with a touch of modern, a bit of retro, a dash of brocante and to give the feeling of fun but at the same time still retain the exclusive element!! The current logo/text is very traditional - white background, gold harlequin & lettering - I was thinking more white background with black letters, or maybe dark grey with white letters and a more modern style Harlequin (abstract???)
