Logo Design Brief

Newly established Life Insurance advisory firm. Will be assisting families and also small/medium business owners protect against the financial impact of death, disability or major illness. Providing personal insurance advice to individuals and couples (Life Insurance, Income Protection, Critical Illness, Childrens Trauma cover, etc). Also providing keyperson, buy-sell insurance advice to business owners.

The business name is LFC Financial. The initials stand for the core benefits our tailored insurance advice will provide clients in the unfortunate event they need to claim - lifestyle, freedom and choice.

The absolute focus of the business will be to provide outstanding personalised protection advice and we will do everything possible to obtain the best cover and pricing for our clients. We pride ourselves on our superior technical knowledge and plan to target (but not exclusively specialise in) the professional market - eg doctors, dentists, lawyers, etc.

In terms of the company logo, I am aiming for a professional, elegant, and reasonably simple logo design that suggests we are a quality business. Something not too busy & cluttered, something with "clean lines" that perhaps can somehow symbolise or embody the key three points noted above (lifestyle, freedom, choice). I am looking for an abstract symbol of some sort that would sit to the left of the words LFC Financial (similar to how the Design Crowd logo is laid out)

I do like the idea of text being lower case (that's how I envisage the back of my business card) but this isn't crucial for the logo itself. No elaborate fonts though please - trying to portray a professional image.

For the colours I'm looking to keep to only 2 or 3. I like the idea of a dark burgundy/maroon and black (or maybe a dark grey. LFC could be one colour and Financial could be a separate colour. Colours should reflect the professional nature of the business.

The logo will be used on my website but will also be the focal point on the front of my business card e.g. - [logo] LFC Financial with "Personal Insurance Specialists" written underneath. Then on the back of my business card I would have the logo itself and underneath the words "lifestyle, freedom, choice" (in lower case).

The following websites are for similar types of businesses (their logos feature two colours as I am looking for, and both have a picture/design on the left, then the name of the business with some additional text below that).

I would probably like to see the logo submissions show a choice of the following texts so I can see which one I prefer:

(I like the idea of the 2nd line being in lower case, and like the dots in between each word) I'm thinking the LFC in the burgundy/dark purple and the first letter in each of the 3 words below (lifestyle, freedom, choice) to also be in the same colour. The dots between each of the three words could also be in the burgundy/dark purple.
