Logo Design Brief
We are an established, reputable veterinary surgery.
We are the most high end surgery in the area.
Situated in an old woodmill building (120 yrs old) with original exposed wooden beams are very much part of the character of the building. The reception desk is made from timber from the old saw mill.
Our clinic does not look like a typical veterinary hospital, but has warmth and character. We put a lot of effort into maintaining a great first impression including air fresheners, heating/air conditioning and ambient lighting.
See www.oldmillvet.com for a photograph of the building exterior.
As we are extending the building and growing in staff, we need a rebrand to reinvigorate the image. We have many more marketing avenues open to us these days and a new logo would do justice to the work we have done inside the business.
The building is mostly a rustic brown colour, and internal doors are a mauve colour (C-56 M-50 Y-19 K-24) so these could be the two main colours utilised in the logo.
We would use the logo in business cards, magnets, brochures, large signage, local (mono) print and shirts. Hence, the logo must be recognisable enough to be shown in different sizes and still look good, as well as be able to be embroidered.
The final design should communicate that we are a professional and high end establishment, yet provide very personalised and caring service to each client and pet.
Updates
Thanks to all for their submissions to date. Just to recap - we MUST have a cat, dog and horse in the logo, and a chicken/rooster would be a 'nice to have' inclusion where possible. We will not be considering any submissions that do not have the cat, dog and horse items so if you would like to re-submit a design we would be delighted to look at revisions that include these animals.

We welcome any new artists as well, and can be contacted for clarification of any of the design brief if you wish to delve deeper into what we like. Thanks to everyone who has already submitted!

Requirements
Must have
- The above text
Something original! We have previously been burnt with copied designs from a zoo and something which appeared to be My Little Pony.
Representations of a dog, a cat and a horse - can be stylised or dynamic 'sketch' lines or silhouettes etc
Prefer landscape style over a stacked/portrait style
Nice to have
- We have previously had the words 'Old Mill' in Old English font, which suited the building. The words 'Veterinary Surgery' is better in a clean/modern font, to portray the professionalism.
The animals may be intertwined with each other and/or the wording itself. The words and the animals do not have to be separate or separable.
Animal representations may include a chicken/rooster where possible
Should not have
- Cartoon animals/characters
hoof prints/paw prints
no primary colours
no more than 3 colours
not high/stacked logo - more landscape
