Logo Design Brief

Dear crowd

We need to find the right logo for a new social network called "Jamain" we will launch in January 2013.

- WHAT IS JAMAIN -
Jamain is a new social network that is targeting the huge market of all organizations working on projects (single users, big or small companies either profit or no-profit, amateurs).

Jamain will provide:
1. powerful yet simple project management tools;
2. functionality that help users to self-advertise in the project oriented marketplace;
3. functionality that help people to find members in the project oriented marketplace.

In further stage of development Jamain will hopefully help setting new standards in terms of business processes which should go in the direction of enabling and simplifying remote working (ideally meaning: better users working experience) and green processes (eg. e-invoicing).

- SIMILARITIES -
Jamain will hopefully be part of the market that today includes:
- Google applications (google docs, google analytics);
- Linkedin

- LOGO IDEAS -
Jamin logo could be composed of:
a. the word Jamain
b. a tagline, most likely "Social network for project oriented organizations and more"
c. an icon or image that could eventually be self consistent (that is: live on his own when the whole text Jamain and tagline cannot be used).

We like intense colors, but we do not have specific color requirements.
Blue (like skype), green (like our temporary http://www.jamain.biz/), orange (like http://www.easyjet.com/en) could all be fine.

Except point c. above (that is compulsory in the logo design we desire) other hints should not be considered strict requirements.
Suggestions are welcome of course.

Our hope is to find designs that are simple and easy to remember.

- LIKE/DONT LIKE -
We like:
- Skype "S" icon;
- twitter logo;
- easyjet logo (despite has no icon);

We don't really like:
- CocaCola logo (no icon, old style font)
- KPMG logo (little bit static)

- FEELINGS -
Jamain is willing to become a tool of daily use for plenty of users.

So it should appear as:
- someone friendly;
- someone you can trust;
- someone that talks clear;
- something simple to use.

- - - BRIEF Update 17 Sept 2012/On tagline - - -
After few days of great contest we consider worthy to suggest to shorten the tagline into: "Business goes social".

In fact very few submitted designs include the original tagline. May be it was just too long.
Once again this is not compulsory requirement, anyway.
