To design a logo for the municipality the Village of Cremona.
Cremona had its beginnings when one of its pioneers (Mr and Mrs Smith Jackson) opened a store and Post Office 1 and 1/2 miles east of its present location in the year 1906. Mrs Jackson was widowed and later married Mr P A Bird. Together they raised a family and lived in Cremona until 1960. Mrs Jackson, along with her good friend Mrs Caroline Reid named their new village Cremona after Cremona Italy, home of the Stradivarius Violins which were made there. When the railway came through in the 1930s, Cremona moved to its present site and was incorporated a village in January 1955. Situated on a south-westerly slope, Cremona residents have a panoramic view of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
We presently have a population of 457.
Cremona is located in south central Alberta in the County of Mountain View in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. In fact you can clearly see the mountains which are just west of Cremona. Cremona is surrounded by trees and farmland and sits on hill.
