Graphic Design Brief
We are a small manufacturing company that makes and sells small scale brewing equipment. We supply turnkey breweries for sale or rent.
Our customers:
Tier 1: Brew Pubs, Start-up Breweries and Brewing Training Schools;
Tier 2: Keen home brewers, large breweries (for prototyping new beers).
We are looking for a brand image that will be used in all aspects of the business, but to start with on our website. The website has not yet designed the site, as the design of the site will be led by the brand theme that is chosen from this competition.
This is a no-spec design, so looking for the designer to take the initiative, use the info in this description and design something that will work as an entire branded theme throughout our products, websites, brochures and marketing materials.
We are looking for a designer to create a brand personality for us, with a few deliverables. Additional future work will follow, providing our sales growth materialises!
We have no preference about the brand theme, and as such, it could be wild western, space age, country kitchen or anything else, we would like the designer to pick a clear and bold theme to ensure we create a strong brand personality.
The company is called Express Brewing, and the domains ExpressBrewing.com and XpressBrewing.com have been bought and ready to become the face of the business, either Express or Xpress can be used as the trading name.
The values held by the company are: quality design and manufacture; efficient & friendly service; from traditional ales to modern pilsners; the perfect blend of the art and the science of brewing; traditional family run business; and market leading research and development.

Company Icon (for use in more primitive environments such as etching on the fermenters)

Hi everyone,
Thank you to all those that have submitted a design so far. I am very impressed at many of the designs that have been submitted so far.
Many people have submitted a logo only, however although the logo is a very important part of the brand image, we are keen on a clearly defined brand image/theme/personality that will be used widely in all aspects of the business. Some designs have been submitted including a full brand image along with short description of the brand image. This clear definition of the holistic brand makes it much easier to picture the brand image in use on the equipment, products, web site design and marketing material. I encourage you all to include information about the complete brand image as well as a logo.

The brand identity/personality must be strong. Everything the business is going to do will start with the brand image, whether it be a marketing document, a design of a new brewery or building of a bar the brand image will be the first thing on the page. We need designs that clearly show what the brand image/personality actually is. A written description, with examples, will help the team to picture what the designer is aiming for. The submission of a simple logo with no supporting brand image information will be looked on less favorably since we are not brand designers, we want you guys to design the brand image for us and most importantly, tell us what the brand image you have designed is!
