Web Design Brief
We require a fresh new website design for the Melbourne High School Old Boys Association. The association is a non-for-profit and as such we like the site to reflect the ethos.
We require a design that uses responsive design techniques, so to allow the site to shift between mobile, tablet and desktop spaces and maintain elements in the site.
We would like a landing/home page design, and also an inner news/article based design included.
We want the site to appeal to a broad market of both the old guard members but also to bring on board the new social savey younger members.
The site needs to have a modern take on a professional yet fresh and opulent/elegant look.
A site that we like influences from is http://www.sofitel-melbourne.com/ we especially like the navigation look and feel.
The site needs to be clean and simple to find information and navigate and as such would like the site design elements to reflect this in its layout and element interplay.
This site will act as an information gateway for the member's, but also offer abilities to purchase memberships, get information on up coming events and purchase tickets to these events, and interact with the members on the site.

Hi all designers, please don't let the wireframe layout include restrict your design freedom on the page layout. We included this to give you a feel for the elements wanted in the site, but not to push you to have them all in that arrangement. Feel free to move around or remove parts of to make better use of the space.
Also this site is for ex-students who are members of an association linked to the school, and not for the school itself, so your designs need to lean towards a member, events and reunions type site design.

After a review today, client now requires that the sites Events need special consideration. Want to see in a prominent position on the landing page area a good area to showcase the upcoming events. Please take this into consideration in your future design layouts.

Hi All Designers, I appreciate all the new and current designs, and sorry a bit behind on the feedback, have been a bit swamped on my own workload, I will give feedback to you all, and will maybe look at an extension of the deadline if need be, as to also allow the clients to look over designs.

- Please use the attached Logo in the design and look to use the current colour pallet as much as possible, but open to colour and pallet additions or amendments.
Must have a “hero” header image scroller for ability to showcase upcoming events and other items (Required for home/landing pages, could be amended or removed on inner pages).
Should look to follow the include wire frame layout concept as a good conception starting point - but do not limit to just this layout, use design discretion.
Include prominently positioned events area in layout for upcoming events to push the events heavy aspect of the site.
Should include icons/link abilities to access social sites and applications. Ie Facebook etc.
Nice to have
- A modern look with an edge to it.
Creative use of the sites colour pallet and site elements.
