Logo Design Brief

We need a cool, modern, artistic, revolutionary, abstract meditator with an atom logo near it, preferably over the head. Our client, the Association of Secular Buddhism represent atheists, agnostics and freethinkers who like to meditate and who agree with the non-supernatural elements of Buddhism.

Submit your own idea, or use the one below. If you use a Buddha or Meditating figure, it must have the following elements:

1. Show Buddha/person meditating.
2. Use a modern style/abstract, cutting edge (NO traditional Buddha-elements such as long ears, magic rays, robe, a Buddha face, Thai or Laughing/fat Buddha look, hair in a bun, monk / monk robes - - keep it modern, abstract and appeal to meditation rather than appealing to religious, ritualistic, or supernatural aspects of Buddhism).
2. Have meditator sit in a Burmese meditation position, hands on lap.
3. The image should be strong but gender neutral (should not appear as either male or female, shouldn't have ears, facial features, muscles, etc.),
4. There must be an atheist logo somewhere in the logo. Here is a link to one (don't use the “A,”) - http://www.atheists.org/about-us/logo
5. Please make the text of the name, “Association of Secular Buddhism . org” be a separate image so it can moved, and make the word secular environmental green color (RGB #83c326 - this is our theme color). Use cool, revolutionary, artistic font.
6. Black and white logo of a meditator / Buddha is preferred, but surprise us if you have some other cool idea. Like the green mentioned above.
7. Maybe have the text, name of the organization, appear under the Buddha, but we are open to other creative ideas.

For black and white Buddha, eventually, we would like two versions of the logo, one copy with the Buddha being black (for light backgrounds) and one white for black backgrounds).

Description of the association:
The Association of Secular Buddhism is a nonprofit organization that promotes Secular Buddhism and meditation by advocating, introducing, and teaching the benefits of these practices to the diverse secular communities across the United States and around the world. Our practice of Buddhism is secular because we make no supernatural claims and advocate only those practices that are consistent with or corroborated by reason and the best science available. We believe that, when properly understood, secular Buddhism and meditation lead to responsible ethical practices based on compassion, charity and the pursuit of meaning and knowledge.

Our members are individuals and organizations who are Buddhists, atheists, nontheists, humanists, freethinkers, agnostics, and skeptics, as well as all others who wish to practice meditation, Buddhism and spirituality without reference to supernatural forces.
