Vector Design Brief

We need a funky old style logo/crest for our new business to be known as OldSchool.Cool
We produce dye sublimation and embroidered products for several distinct market themes including classic autos, purebred dogs, and hockey. Most of our offerings combine quality photography and art with humorous sayings. Example: An old VW van with the saying: "Zero to sixty...eventually!"
We were thinking that the logo design could be in the form of a 50s school crest with the company name across the top and a blank space in the middle for an interchangible piece of theme art. That is - the same basic crest and lettering but a new piece of art to reflect the theme, such as a dog or hockey player.
To start thing off, and keep all the submissions comparable, the first theme should be the front of a VW hippie van from the late 60s.
We would want the logo to be done in vector art so that it can scale up from letterhead size to a 8 by 10 t-shirt design.
We expect to do a bunch of theme logos based on the winning design, so there is a strong possibility of ongoing work for the winning designer.
Think "old school" and blow our mind!
