Web Design Brief

We are developing a single page application. The SPA (single page application) will display natural gas pipeline flow data once the customer logs on. The customer has a choice of the region, the pipeline, the zone on the pipeline, whether the point is a delivery point or receipt point and the state the pipeline flows through.
we have jumpstarted the project and are attaching a pdf of the same.

we are using mockingbird for the wireframe. any designer is free to use this tool to make changes.

A mockingbird wireframe link is added below. you are free to use it and to make changes. please save the changed wireframe in a different name

we are looking for inputs on layout, style , color, font & flow.

A logo jpg file has also been attached.

The mockingbird wireframe link is

In the pdf file you will see the wireframe.  their brief description is as follows:

the horizontal tabs on the top show the US regions.
the vertical tab box shows the different pipelines in the region
the tab area of each horizontal tab shows the flow data.

HI guys

The existing website or the traffic generator is a blog which talks about Natural gas supply .  The blog url is

www.kwenergyonline.net

I did test the concept ( if you scroll down the page of the blog you will see that I am asking my readers for their email id )

I will use linkedin, twitter to drive traffic to the blog and from the blog onto the supply data site.

the first screen will be a plain sign up screen ( user id & password) with the ch4++ logo. same thing as gmail.

from there once i capture the user''s preference regarding the region and which pipeline he subscribes to , he will get that on the next screen ( the webpage which is up for design)..

right now the user gets all this data in an email attachment , as a csv file.

I am using javascript ( jquery, knockout, etc) to code up the webpage. so it is going to be dynamic.

please concentrate on the layout , flow and user experience.

if you need information about the user persona, i can provide that too.

The umbrella brand of the product is CH4++.

i hope this sheds some light.

Parag

Hi guys

the data display area shows 3 buttons. they are used to query the data in the grid and display it. the query buttons are necessary for slicing and dicing the data. my end user are data fanatics and love such buttons. makes life easy

Hi guys

this is not a winner take all contest. I do understand that lot of effort goes behind the scenes. so a second and a third prize has been added.

I am also attaching two csv files. this is the data that i need to display. of course i will be slicing it and dicing it. if you open the csv document , you will see what i mean.

the data can be sliced along the following lines.

1. delivery location or receipt location
2. zonal info.
3. state wise info.

i am required to display 2 gas days concurrent data.
and there are around 4 updates in each gas days.
1. timely
2. evening
3. interday1
4. interday2
and some times  the fifth update called late.

even after slicing and dicing i need to show around 5 to 10 records for each update and for two concurrent gas days that works around 40 records with a scroll bar.
the magic is in the grid display.
please let me know if you need to know anything.

Hi guys
open the csv file using excel and auto filter it. you will see how the data needs to be sliced.

my thinking is to provide a input box on the top of the data grid, which provides a choice of the 4 updates. since gasday happens to be the most important thing.

i have provided for zone, state and delivery / receipt location choices too.

hope i am not confusing you guys.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Hi guys most of the designers are at the finish line waiting for the result. here in this project , I believe this project is more of a team work ( individual designer & inputs from our side). due to the time zones of various designers, I have not been able to work with all of the designers input's at the same time. hence to make up for my sloppiness, i am extending the project deadline by 2 days. appreciate all your hard work. it has been a really good experience. regards Parag

Hi guys

we are extremely happy with the response. please let it be known that there are no winners here. each designer has a distinct style and we are picking the one which we think suit out site the best.

in the next few days, you will be hearing from us about the following, how we distribute the prize money.

we will try our level best to take care of all the designers who participated.
