I tried to send you my design, but it wouldn't let me without uploading the original files and a vector file... Why would I do this before approval of my design... that is just a recipe for being ripped off... you need to change that policy.

No designer gives away the vector files or manipulation files without first getting the job... anyone can just use them as they like, alter them as they wish and then say... oh sorry you didn't get the job...!

I have no problem doing the design on spec... but giving it all away without getting the job... I'd be broke in a week!

Hi,

This is our first time using Design Crowd. I agree entirely, why would you send original or vector files. Can't you just send a sreenshot, low res PNG or something low res so we can just see the design? I don't think we received anything different from the other designer. We would like to see your design. There is no way we specified that in our request. Picsured.

Hi,

I don't think it was your problem actually... I think it's a problem with the DesignCrowd site programing, I've come across a lot of issues with the program formating actually, I think they are still working a lot of bugs out.

I was originally just sending a j-peg file, and that was the problem, the submission form protocol wasn't letting me complete the submission without adding the original source files and the vector files. It says in their (DesignCrowd) guidelines that you can choose as an option to send these files or not, but there was no facility for me to make that choice and it just would,'t submit my design without it... it just kept re-loading the page and requesting the files to be uploaded.

The truth is I'm not that happy with the design anyway... as I stated in my 'pitch' to you, my motivation was the environment I grew up near. I grew up close to a Tropical Hinterland rainforest in Queensland Australia. I know the rainforest jungle well and the massive trees that reach up to the canopies. However, in trying to isolate one tree in an abstract image, with the tall ladder climbing up it's trunk, just doesn't have the same effect, because the rainforest canopy is quite dense and the trunks of the trees tower up to a canopy that is all merged like one huge roof
/ceiling, so the effect is lost in a single tree and it just doesn't get that same effect...

I can send you the s
design I've done and your can see what I mean, and if you like I can do some other styles and version... I'll try the submission page again, but if it doesn't work, do you have an email address I can send it too?
Cheers
Chris

Chris,

Sound quite intriguing. Feel free to send whatever you would like in whatever format over by email - if Design crowd isn't working. My email is rob@picsured.com.
