Lightsapp is about to launch our new website and need a video to demonstrate "how it works". Lightsapp is a unique marketplace providing contractors and organisations a platform to connect on a needs basis for Contractors, organisations have instant access to contractor calendars in real-time, allowing organisations to connect directly by matching skills, preferred location and availability. We are all about representing the contractor as this will be a free tool available to display idle time.
DesignCrowd have got a really great example that would suit our concept, we would be interested in something current and cost effective, we really like the narrated stickmen figures or whiteboard diagrams to illustrate the story, eg:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qx6fbt1ycA
Also we have considered Prezi as more cost effective option

A voice over person is probably required to narrate (we can supply)
If screenshots of the application is thought worthwhile we can also supply
This is the type of scenario we want to create:
Scenario (for animation)
You’re a contractor looking for work and you’re frustrated because people want you when you’re busy and then when you have no work, no one contacts you! Either way, you want control of your most valuable asset …. Time!
You hear of this neat new site called lightsapp where companies looking for your skills can find and connect with you based on your availability! (By the way, registration is free)
The first thing you do after you register is that you set up your profile or import it directly from LinkedIn (we reckon LinkedIn is a cool place to keep your profile so if it ain’t up to date then get it up to date and we’ll suck up the important bits like your experience – we don’t pick up your skills in LinkedIn because we don’t think it really helps companies at this point in time)
You set your calendar up once and thereafter Lightsapp automatically keeps it up to date so companies can see when you’re available
You set up the skills and roles you have using a drop down list or intuitive select search option
You can optionally add other stuff but you can do that at your leisure – you’re now ready!
So this is what happens:
Companies needing skills from ½ day to year long contracts, will go the lightsapp search engine and they put in the skills they want and when they need them
They then get a list of contractors for that period sorted by mostly available to lowest available and your name appears on the results based on your calendar. Green if you’re available or red if you’re not. We have a status for amber but we’ll explain that later
If they think you’ll be suited (by reading a short bio on you) or better still they view a youtube clip you prepared earlier, they hit the connect button which will extend an invitation to connect with you
You’ll receive the invite and decide if it’s something you would be interested in. If so, then you accept the connection and your details provided (you can set what personal details you wish to expose to companies)
The two of you email, talk, negotiate at which point your availability flag goes to Amber
Amber is good because you still appear in the search results as available so you could get multiple invitations or offers to consider – see? Now you’re in control
Once you agree on terms and conditions, they make you an offer through lightsapp which you can accept then your status turns from amber to red (happy days because you’re working and because you won’t get hassled anymore!) Companies may still choose to contact you if you have good ratings (they can vote for you too) as they may wish to make you an offer you can’t refuse or you may not be that happy about where you are so you want to keep your options open! (your choice)
When you and the companies use lightsapp exclusively then the ecosystem ensures calendars, skills and important information are kept up to date. So tell your friends and get with the movement. The more contractors, the more you control the game!
The benefits for you are that you get to choose the contracts you want at the rate you want, you can manually update your calendar for when you decide you want time off or are sick so people don’t bother you and no more chasing for your next contract.
The benefits for companies is that what you charge is what they pay so you will find more and more companies coming to you directly instead of through an agency although agencies may still use lightsapp. If they don’t use Lightsapp then you tell them they should because you want all your offers to come through the one place so your calendar is kept up to date! They’ll be able to save shortlists, have their favourite people on hand and they’ll even get prompted when your contract is running out so you don’t have to chase them anymore!
Companies pay a low monthly fee for the service irrespective of the value of your contract because that’s way we think life should be. Transparent dealings! No markups on your rate and a set fee for businesses that makes using lightsapp easier and cheaper for them. No ads and no wasting time contacting people who aren’t available so big tick for them!
So that’s it! Lightsapp is a quick and easy way to manage your work life. You connect with companies you want to connect with, Companies can quickly search for the best available candidates in a fraction of the time which makes everyone happy!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We are willing to consider a design concept and discuss the overall cost of the project offline if we are satisfied that the designer understands the brief and has the right vision for our company. Those who left messages about more money, we are waiting some indication of design and costing to respond accordingly.
