Web Design Brief
We need a new web site design that complements a new children's book series that will be available next month. The main character is named 'Herba Hoota Hound Dog Bird' and the story lines work through bullying issues for elementary age kids. This is a new design from scratch, but we have attached a collection of artwork from the new book series that the web site design should complement.
The scope of this project is only for the design / layout of the home page and one interior page for the web site.
Additional project details including the sitemap and example content are included in the attached document: 'Herba Hoota Web Site.pdf'
We are open for questions and we look forward to seeing your creativity!
Updates
We have marked the project as guaranteed now! We look forward to seeing your ideas and concepts!

Target Market(s)
Currently, there are two children’s books in the Herba Hoota series aimed at elementary aged children. This collection is planned to grow over time. The goal of the web site is to provide information about the authors and the book series to elementary aged children (ages 3 to 12), their parents, and their school teachers and counselors.

Requirements
Must have
- The web site design should complement the attached artwork from the Herba Hoota series. Overall, a full width design is desired that utilizes and open layout with lots of color.
The Herba Hoota animal logo should be prominently placed. It is not necessary to retain the white background behind the logo.
The web site will be implemented as a responsive design using the Twitter Bootstrap framework and a standard 12 column grid.
Nice to have
- There are two themes in the books which should be incorporated into the web site design:
- Herba Hoota uses the phrase “Way Cool” in describing various characters in the book and it is meant to build confidence and self esteem ... "you are way cool"
- An eagle feather is left behind as in “Hoota was here”. This eagle feature should be incorporated into the design in various locations.
