Logo Design Brief
The consultancy is called Brilliant Mistake.
We advise clients (usually small - medium sized businesses) on developing a big, bold idea for their brand, taking a position in their marketplace that will be seen as courageous - and authentic.
Brilliant Mistake (the name) is from 3 'places':
1. the idea that a truly authentic, emotional brand is - at its root - 'flawed': i.e. that which strives to be 'perfect' ends up looking contrived and false. "Stop trying to be perfect and start being remarkable".
- visual cues: a persian rug - will include a deliberate flaw to show that it is handmade / authentic (like maybe weaving a five-legged horse!)
- a bottle of Angostura Bitters has an outsized label: originally a mistake when ordering, they have kept with this for 100 years!
we call these "The Fundamental Flaws of Attraction"
2. it's a risky name, so sets out or belief in risk-taking.
3. It's also the name of an Elvis Costello song - and we love Costello.
