Logo Design Brief

We're a UK based company that sell a range of fixings, fasteners and connectors used by the automotive trade. An example of some of the products that we sell are plastic clips used to hold bumpers onto cars, electrical connectors that connect radios in the car and plastic brackets to fix cables and hose in place. It is a range of small hardware items.
We need a fairly generic logo to go on packaging and help build our brand. The brand is "227s" so this must be clear. We ideally need a single or two colour design to minimise the costs of printing on to packaging.
The design should communicate quality and strength to show that this is a strong and reliable product range.
