Logo Design Brief
We need a logo for a community-academic health partnership that brings together a non-profit organization (www.dryhootch.org) that serves military veterans, faculty from a Veteran Affairs Hospital and civilian hospitals, and other community based non-profits that focus on mental health care more broadly (e.g. Mental Health America, National Alliance on Mental Illness, etc.). The key is to create a logo that says something positive about US military veterans from the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, is innovative and shows partnership with non-profits, but that also is not so novel that it would scare off major players in the healthcare space! Suggesting transformative change in how veteran issues are addressed by healthcare and the community at large is the main idea.

Must have
- It would be great to see some versions of the logo reflect the logo of the non-profit that started the partnership.  This organization is called "Dryhootch" - "hootch" is military jargon for a safe place for soldiers to sleep, and also is associated with alcohol.  "Dry" denotes the organization's commitment to a drug and alcohol free environment - thus "Dryhootch" suggests a safe social space for veterans to meet, it is a coffee house like environment.  The Dryhootch logo depicts an over turned coffee cup that is also a silhouette of a military quonset hut.  
 We don't want to use all of the elements of the Dryhootch logo for this new logo - but somehow suggesting it, or reflecting some of the ideas it contains would be helpful.
 Denoting partnership between academics, healthcare, and veterans would be great.
Nice to have
- Should appeal to those from major (fairly socially conservative) institutions as well as the veteran community.
