Logo Design Brief
I need a logo designed for an online magazine that I will be creating. Eventually, this magazine might be actually published. So I want a logo that works for an online audience and actual physical magazine you can hold in your hands. It's going to be called "Calgary Minute". It will have useful and entertaining articles about Calgary's real estate, real estate advice, interior decorating, fashion, art and culture, restaurants reviews, recipes, investment advice, business profiles, health stories, people's stories, contents. Basically, it will deliver VALUE to the city of Calgary citizens. Initially, I would like the magazine to focus on Real Estate Market and help consumers figure out how to buy real estate in Calgary. I am a real estate agent and would like to have some exposure for myself and my listings + have a fun and interesting magazine that would appeal to modern readers.
The main point of this website is that it will have 1 minute videos about interesting things in Calgary.
Our main competitor is this online magazine: http://calgaryisawesome.com/
I will be going for the similar type of content, but a bit more professional looking/classy looking like this: http://investmentandfinanceblog.com/
Please Google Calgary images and you will see that we have that famous skyline. However, I do not want to look similar to Calgary Herald *logo attached*, as they are already using it.
My target market is people looking for real estate information in Calgary; new buyers; people aged 20-45. People looking for fun and relevant Calgary information; my target audience is classy, hipsters, modern, cool, educated young and mature people of Calgary. People who enjoy reading digital content.
Logos that I like are here: http://www.designcrowd.com/press/
Yes, click on that page and you will see a list of magazine reviewing DesignCrowd. I like the way they all look. Professional. Modern.Cool.
Anthill logo is very cool!! Click here: http://storage.designcrowd.com/common/images/press/anthill.png
We can use the same principle -Calgary on top; minute -situated a bit lower...
I am interested in seeing some ideas:
````Simple Looking Modern Logos
-hipsters, stylish, modern, sharp
-simple, modern looking logo like Apple
-You can be creative with the font
`````Creative fun logos
-you can use shapes, rectangles
-crazy fun fonts and a cool looking logo but still classy (not too wild)
-skyline of calgary or images of buildings/houses
-letters CM (stands for Calgary Minute) somehow incorporated in the logo
``````Classy Corporate Logo
-classy magazine logo (think Forbes, Brides.com, Cosmopolitan, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc.)
-high-end logo (expensive feeling)
Please note that the logo DOES NOT HAVE TO relate to real estate, as I will be covering many other articles like fashion, art and culture, etc.
Logo must be done in Illustrator and I want to be able to see it on Black and White backgrounds. Please note that I am a web designer/print designer myself, so I will be looking for adherence to design principles. It must look professional, modern and sharp.
Thank you!
Updates
Note to everyone: Please kindly don't make it look like a Radio Station logo.
Thank you!!!
Thanks everyone for your designs!
One comment: It is totally fine and encouraged to make our logo look like a TV Channel logo. That's fine too!
We just want to have something that stands on on Television Screen, when Printed on a Magazine cover and when published online in an online magazine. Thank you!!
