Logo Design Brief

I am looking for a logo design for a new business which is being developed in Australia, but is visioned to go international. The business is very multifaceted and is focused on sustainable living initiatives that are done in an inspirational way. These range from education workshops (natural beauty, conscious living & whole food eating), camel/horse trekking tours, consulting, animal food, cafe + more. Consciously Alive is about reconnecting individuals, community, health and the environment, and living our everyday lives in a manner that has minimal impact on the earth. Ultimately it is about being a Consciously Alive human being whilst living on this planet.

I have had different ideas for the logo ranging from using a spiral, geometric shape, tree of life and a human standing in a tree's trunk where the roots come out of the humans feet. As I've progressed with this design project slowly things are becoming clearer. Firstly I realise just how much I'm relying on someone else's vision to create a great logo from their expertise and secondly, in order to symbolise my passion and the theme of the business, it needs to be 'earthy'. The business is going to be very green with a zero waste to landfill policy (using re-usable containers and recyclable products) and other higher principle sustainable policies.

I need a logo that can be used for each business branch i.e. a solid Consciously Alive logo that can then be added to for different business streams such as 'Consciously Alive Whole Food Cafe', 'Consciously Alive Pet Food', 'Consciously Alive Nut Butters' etc. The business will be a reflection of how I live my life, how I feed my body, my animals and my soul. It's possible that I'll develop signs out of recycled materials, wood for example, which could be another consideration.

The business has a spiritual background and much of the business content is being channelled. I'm hoping the same will be the case with the logo. I look forward to co-creating this project with your assistance. Thank you.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I really appreciate the designs that have been submitted so far. There are a couple that I really like, but I still don't feel like I've found 'the one'. Unfortunately I don't really know what I want and am hoping I will know it when I see it. Logos are the face of your business so I think it's really important to find the right fit. Fingers crossed the perfect design will be found soon!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I am extending the deadline again as I now have some assistance with the design from my best friend. She is doing me up some sketches which I will upload once I receive them. I believe this will be of great assistance. Thank you all for the designs, advice and commitment to date. I'm really looking forward to finding the perfect design for Consciously Alive. Karla

Hi All,

I've just had DesignCrowd upload a couple of files for me as I've been having troubles. On consultation with my trusted friend we have come up with a vision of a symbol for Consciously Alive. It consists of many things that are dear to my life. I'm looking for something that incorporates aboriginal art and a tree to symbolise growth. A very rough sketch has been uploaded and another document which has some images captured from google images. I have a very strong indigenous connection to the land. Much of Australian aboriginal art work is done using dots. I'd like a combination of this and possibly solid circles (doesn't have to be perfectly round and can be uneven), in colours of the human chakras (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violate) and white at intervals and the centre, to break it up a bit. With the white in the centre and leading out with the lighter colours it is hoped it will make it look a bit alive, or glowing. I'd like a tree with roots to be in the circle (it is OK for the top or bottom to expand further than the circle). I have copied an image of an Australian gum tree for your reference, however the 2 lower branches would need to be excluded if using this example. I have added some images of indigenous art; first, to show the shapes and secondly to show some beautiful colour combinations.

If you would like some more information please let me know. I really hope I have clearly portrayed what I am after - clear communication is such an art!

Thank you sincerely,
Karla
