Logo Design Brief
Meleon is a new clothing-resale platform (North Shore, MA). We host transactions for thrift sellers of every size - social-media-based shops list items, run live "drops," and redirect their followers to pay securely on Meleon, with dispute handling built in.
The name comes from chameleon - inspired by a chameleon's ability to change and adapt its look. Treat that as inspiration, not a literal instruction: we're open to abstract marks and we do not want a cartoon lizard.
Above all, the logo should communicate self-expression and personal style - the feeling of building a wardrobe that's yours. The register should feel premium but approachable, made for resale and thrift culture: not corporate, not luxury.
Target Market(s)
Two-sided. Sellers: independent and mid-size thrift/vintage shops that already sell on Instagram and TikTok and want faster listing, live drops, and safe checkout. Buyers: style-conscious resale shoppers, largely Gen Z and younger millennials, who follow these shops for one-of-a-kind pieces. Aesthetic-driven, mobile-first, allergic to anything that looks generic or corporate.

Must have
- Legible and recognizable at 16–32px (favicon and Instagram avatar). Works in a single flat color first; the plum→copper gradient [#5C2B5E → #B0632F] is an accent treatment, not the only version. Reads clearly on both light and dark backgrounds. Delivered as vector, with a horizontal wordmark lockup and an icon-only mark.
Nice to have
- The chameleon's idea - adaptation, shifting, blending in - expressed abstractly rather than depicted. Holds up in one-color contexts like embroidery or a stamp.
